Obituary of Allan Mononen

Allan Mononen was born on July 05, 1950, and died at home on February 03, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Oiva and Arlene. He is survived by his sisters, Linda and Jean; and his son, Josh. He was active in the Conneaut First Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member and a Trustee. In his youth he was a high school track and field star and then pursued his lifelong love of sports as a staff writer and photographer for The Courier as well as a sports videographer for the local cable TV, covering all of the Conneaut local area team action in addition to acting as a mentor, a participant and as an official for various community sports teams. He is also remembered as an engaging and enjoyable teacher at CHS where he was a substitute for many years. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and lived in Conneaut all his life. He has a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Conneaut at 1:00PM on Saturday the 24th of February.
