Conneaut- Duane R. Loomis, 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 10, 2020. He was born on November 27, 1927 in Conneaut the son of Kenneth E. and Marsha L. (Woodworth) Loomis. Duane graduated from Rowe High School Class of 1945. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably. He graduated valedictorian from Trinity Bible College in 1969. In his younger years, he pastored several small country churches and retired from Webb Manufacturing. Duane loved working with kids and was a Boy Scout Leader, church camp counselor. He enjoyed woodworking and mowing his lawn up until he was 90 years old. Duane is survived by his children, Kathie Burns, Nancy (Douglas) Phillips, Robin (Greg) Williams, Jeffrey (Barb) Loomis, Valerie (Tim) Pender, Janelle (John) Greene and Allison M. Herb; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Claude Loomis; and sisters-in-law, Joyce and Charlotte Loomis. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Kathryn Johnston Loomis; brothers, Kenneth "Bud", Walter, Carl and Jimmie Loomis; son-in-law, Robert Burns. Calling hours will be held, Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 6PM-8PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 11:00A.M., with his grandson, Kyle Loomis, officiating. Burial will follow at East Conneaut Cemetery, where American Legion Cowle Post #151 will honor their departed comrade. Funeral service will be livestreamed via Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials in memory of Duane may be given to St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105., an organization he heartfelt supported for many years.
