Obituary of Albert Wright

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert "Bud" L. Wright, Sr., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 24, 2025. Born in Conneaut, Ohio on November 14, 1949, to parents Albert and Beverly (Meyers) Wright, Bud remained a long-time resident of Conneaut. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Peters) Wright, on August 4, 1969. The pair spent four years in St. Petersburg, FL., where Bud was stationed in the United States Coast Guard. It was here that they welcomed their son, Albert L. Wright Jr. before moving back to Conneaut. There, Bud and Karen welcomed their daughter Brandy (Wright) Bartos. Bud was a beloved and active member of each of his communities. He spent many hours coaching at the Conneaut Local Youth Organization (CYLO) and supporting the organization. For 20 years, Bud owned and operated a floor covering business in Conneaut. Relocating to Columbus in 2005, Bud was able to cheer on his beloved Buckeyes up close and personal. In his retirement, Bud stayed active by running the food pantry at his church, Blendon Community Fellowship. It was also in Columbus that Bud and Karen were able to watch their grandchildren grow. Everyone who knew Bud was a receiver of his love, his time, or the product of his hard work. Bud is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen, son and daughter-in-law Albert and Joy (Toth) Wright, daughter and son-in-law Brandy (Wright) and John Bartos, six grandchildren: Cole, Hope, Ty, and Chase Wright, and Molly and Sarah Spears. Bud also leaves behind two sisters, Loretta (d. Moe) Shaffer and Bonnie (Duane) Roosa, all of Conneaut. He is preceded in death by his father, his mother, and his step-father Donald Daugherty. Bud bestowed a lifelong love of family upon each of us. A private funeral service will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Columbus Veterans Hospital and DaVita Parkside Kidney Care. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be made in Bud's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, a local food pantry, or an organization of your choosing. He would also be happy if you root for The Ohio State Buckeyes every chance you get. If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." Romans 10:9-11. Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut is entrusted with local arrangements.
