Obituary of Norman Krause

Norman A. Krause, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born on September 9, 1948, in Conneaut, Ohio, Norman Krause was the son of Albert and Eleanor (née Heim) Krause. A proud 1966 graduate of Conneaut High School, Norm began his career at Gill Chevrolet and later dedicated 31 years of service to the General Electric Base Plant before retiring. In addition to his primary career, he spent three decades working every Wednesday at the City Auction House in West Springfield. After retirement, Norm fulfilled a lifelong dream by building a home in the woods of Pennsylvania. He continued working for six more years at JJ Kennedy in Clarion before fully retiring. Norm and his beloved wife Kathy shared a love for travel and spent their winters in Nevada, where they enjoyed the sunshine, the mountains, and many lively games of bingo together. Norm is survived by his loving wife Kathy Krause, whom he married in 1992 in Conneaut, Ohio; sister, Alberta (Bob) White; children, Steven (Amber) Krause, Nita (Ed Angelo) Drugatz, Bert (Stephanie) Newsome, and Christina Trentham; grandchildren, Spencer and Slater Krause, Peyton Newsome, Natalie Wood, Madison Petro, Sophia Drugatz, Hayden and Charlie Angelo, and Lexan and Anna Trentham; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who all loved him dearly. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 2PM-5PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials in his memory be given to the Erie Shriners Hospital, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA, 16505 or to give directly to a cancer patient in need.
