Jeannie Headley, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the David Simpson Hospice House.

She as born Lillian Lucile Vance on May 21, 1937 in Webster County, West Virigina to Frank Cowger and Orpha Vance Cowger.

Jeannie will be remembered as a shy, quiet, and reserved soul. Though she spoke rarely, her words carried weight, and when she did speak, everyone listened. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: annual trips to the county fair, road trips to Niagara Falls, and cherished visits from family and friends who would braid her hair and paint her nails. Her face would light up when she went fishing, caught sight of a butterfly, or savored a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a root beer — though never a root beer float.

Jeannie is survived by her son, Franklin Eichele; granddaughter, Alexis Eichele; siblings, Laverna Nichols, Larry Cowger, Maryann (Mike) Macusco, and Hazel (Jessie) Casebolt; sister-in-law, Pauline Cowger; and close extended family, of which many of the children lovingly called her grandma Jeannie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Herman Cowger and Leroy Cowger.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from5PM-7PM at Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, with a time of sharing to follow at 7:00PM.
