James D. "Slammer" Reichley, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Hamot Medical Center. Born June 12, 1952, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Dale and Halcie (Allen) Reichely. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Bellevue High School. Jim was a true character—fun-loving, loyal, and always up for a good time. He had a deep love for the open road and spent countless hours riding his Harley. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, visiting local clubs, spending time at the casino, and being around animals. Most of all, Jim cherished the time he spent with his buddies, always finding laughter and friendship wherever he went. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those lucky enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia (Szalai) Reichley; son, Shawn Reichley; sisters, Ellen (Wilford) Stover, Cindy Nelson, and Kathy Reichley; stepdaughters, Christine Thompson, Michelle Bailey, Stephanie Thompson, Tracey (Christopher) McNeil, and Tonya Clausen; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
