Peggy Ann McCollister Obituary

Peggy Ann McCollister, 83, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Born March 25, 1942, in Springfield, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Geraldine (Wagner) Mayberry, and she remained a lifelong resident of the area.

For over 30 years, Peggy worked as a bartender at the Conneaut Eagles, where she became a beloved fixture of the community. She will be fondly remembered with a Kool cigarette in hand and a vocabulary that could rival any sailor's—delivered with a wink and a laugh. Her sharp wit and sense of humor were matched only by her love for her family and her cherished cat, Ally.

Peggy is survived by her children, Joseph Smith, Brian (Angie) Koziarski, Tim Koziarski, and Diana Grandinetti; her sister, Mary Murzynski; and her grandchildren, Joseph Smith, Alex, Brian, and Darien Koziarski, Jennifer Carr, and Stephanie Giradneeri; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel McCollister; siblings Bonnie Hudson, John Mayberry, and Ruth Berarducci-Temple; grandson, Christopher Cork; and her parents.

In accordance with Peggy's wishes, no services will be held.

Should friends desire memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Online obituary and condolences may be shared at www.thompsonsmithnesbitt.com.
