Dawn Patricia King, 71, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

She was born May 11, 1954, the daughter of Howard E. Henderson and Florence I. (Heard). A lifelong resident of Conneaut, Dawn was a 1972 graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to earn her associate degree in nursing from Lutheran Medical Center. She dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others as part of the ICU department at Brown Memorial Hospital, where she was deeply respected by colleagues and patients alike.

In retirement, Dawn looked forward to monthly lunches with her fellow retired nurses, sharing memories and laughter over good food. A creative spirit, she found joy in scrapbooking and preserving family moments.

Dawn was a faithful member of New Leaf United Methodist Church, where her kindness and devotion to service were well known. Above all, she loved her family and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness.

She is survived by her husband, Richard King, whom she married on June 6, 1987 at the Conneaut First Congregational Church; children, Kris (Adriana) King, and Richard (Melissa) King; as well as two step-daughters who wish to be omitted; grandchildren, McKenna and Kylee, Henry, and Ella; and her brother, Jack (Debra) Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 3-5PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 1PM at the funeral home, burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
