Conneaut- Richard "Dick" Lawrence Voelker, 94, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 3, 1931 in Bronx, New York and raised in Ohio and called Conneaut, Ohio his hometown since his graduation from Conneaut High School Class of 1949.
Dick honorably served his country, first in the United States Army in the Korean War, 7th Infantry Regiment, and later in the U.S. Civil Service, where he ultimately served as Chief Editor for the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, until his retirement.
Upon retirement, Dick, returned to his hometown in Conneaut, where he remained active in civic affairs, including a lengthy term on the Conneaut Board of Zoning Appeals and participation in recreational and civic pursuits including membership in the American Legion Cowle Post #151 and the Conneaut Elks Lodge #256, and a member and organizer of several golf leagues.
Dicks greatest legacy, however, is his loving family. He is survived by his children, Steve (Susy) Voelker, Beth (Kevin) McKew, and Alyson (Tom) Harbage; dear grandfather to Emily, Kelley, Ashley, and Sam; and great-grandfather "GG" to Levi, Shea, Crew, Reid, Miles, Henry and Louisa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Kay Arline (Price) Voelker on November 11, 2005 and whom he married on August 9, 1957; and a dear son, Michael Voelker.
In keeping with his wishes, private family services were observed.
