Abbey Nicole Thomas, 42, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Born April 18, 1983, in Dalton, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of Glenn Thomas and Debra (Rodgers) Talley. Abbey lived with epilepsy throughout her life, and her strength in the face of it shaped much of who she was. She was a passionate supporter of epilepsy foundations, always hoping for a cure and never missing an opportunity to educate others about the condition. Her openness and advocacy touched many.

Abbey found joy in life's simple pleasures—especially scratching lottery tickets, always chasing that big win with her signature optimism. She loved to talk, to laugh, and to be surrounded by the people she cared about. She was the favorite aunt to her many nieces and nephews, who adored their Aunt Abbey and her bright, loving presence. Family gatherings were never complete without her famous mac and cheese, a dish everyone looked forward to as much as her company.

Above all else, Abbey loved her boys. Devin, Hunter, and Ryan were the center of her world—the greatest blessings of her life and the source of her deepest pride.

She is survived by her sons, Devin, Hunter, and Ryan Sjoden; her mother, Debra Talley; her father, Glenn Thomas; her sisters, Angela (Frank Nelson) Oliver and Courtney (Troy) Peterson; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Talley.

The family encourages friends and family to wear purple, her favorite color and also the support color for epilepsy awareness.
