Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Taylor

Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Taylor, 85, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Meadow Falls in Conneaut, Ohio.

Peggy was born on September 2, 1940, in Conneaut, Ohio, to the late Archer and Evelyn (Cousins) Phillips. She graduated from Conneaut High School with the Class of 1958 before pursuing her passion for caring for others by earning her nursing degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio.

Peggy devoted her career to nursing, providing compassionate care to countless patients. She concluded her nursing career at Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut, where she was respected by both her colleagues and those she served.

On November 30, 1974, Peggy married Paul L. "Pete" Taylor at The Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa. Together, they built a life centered on family and lasting memories.

Peggy is survived by her children, Tim (Julie) Altier, Todd Altier, Scott "Spitty" (Brook) Altier, Myles (Tina) Taylor, Lynn Rebera, and Loring "Buzz" Taylor; her nine beloved grandchildren, Alexis (Altier) Garrett, Spencer Altier, Aidan Altier, Nolan Altier, Alex Taylor, Buzzy Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Tony Santiago, Justin Santiago, and great grandchild, Finn Garrett, who all brought her great joy. She is also survived by her two cousins, Connie (Cousins) Ogren and also Carol (Jussila) Herb, who always looked up to Peggy as her "big sister"!

She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister Mary Ann (Phillips) Ritter, son-in-law, John Rebera, and daughter-in-law, Robin Altier.

Peggy will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to her family, and her lifelong commitment to helping others through her nursing career. She also had a special love for her beloved basset hounds, whose faithful companionship brought her countless smiles throughout the years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.

At Peggy's request, there will be no service.

Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut.
