Conneaut – Edward J. Brown, 69, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at his home.

Ed was born December 17, 1956, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Walter "Ted" and Lauretta Nerrise (Quinn) Brown. He was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut High School. Following graduation, Ed briefly worked at the Can Company before beginning a 30-year career with the City of Conneaut, where he worked as a meter reader.

Ed had a lifelong passion for baseball. He began playing as a young child and continued throughout his youth before later playing slow-pitch softball for the Moose Lodge. A devoted Cleveland Indians fan, he rarely missed the opportunity to follow his favorite team. Ed also dedicated many years to coaching youth baseball with his friend, Mark Mirando, through CLYO. Together, they coached and positively impacted the lives of many young athletes through their guidance, encouragement, and love of the game. In his free time, Ed also enjoyed fishing.

Ed is survived by his sisters, Brenda Brown and Sharon Brown; his nephews, Mike Brown and Matthew (Sarah) Terry; his great-niece and great-nephews, Alice, Jack, and Noah Terry; and his aunt, Marilyn Quinn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his aunt and uncles, Flossie Branden, Bill Quinn, and George Quinn.

In keeping with Ed's wishes, private services will be held. He will be inurned with his parents at East Conneaut Cemetery.
