Obituary of Zaida Elaine Humalainen

Zaida Elaine Humalainen, 100, of Lake Rd., Conneaut, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Zaida was born on February 27, 1915 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of Archie and Mae (nee Rath) Titus. She graduated from Conneaut High School. Zaida married the love of her life, Waino "Wayne" M. Humalainen in Conneaut on January 17, 1934. She retired from the Astatic Corporation in 1970 after 24 years of service. Zaida enjoyed ceramics, bowling, cooking, sewing, making crafts and playing Pinnochle. She was a member at the former East Conneaut United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir. Zaida was Gray L ady at Brown Memorial Hospital for 16 years. Zaida dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Humalainen is survived by her three sons, Richard (Becky) Humalainen of Montgomery, TX, Phillip Humalainen, whom was privileged to be her primary caregiver for the past 20 years and Wayne "Mike" (Cathy) Humalainen of Los Lunas, NM; three grandchildren, Richard Doughty, Heather Humalainen and Karri Pacileo; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Emily, Bryce, Braden, Cade, Wesleigh and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Humalainen; brothers, Richard Gehr, Charles E. Titus, Richard Titus and Clifford Titus; and a grandson, Phillip "Corky" Humalainen. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in the Greenlawn Memorial Garden Mausoleum Chapel. Family will receive friends in the Greenlawn Memorial Garden Mausoleum Chapel from 10 A.M. until time of services at 11 A.M., on Tuesday. Please join the family at the Conneaut Optimist Club following the funeral services for a time of food and remembering.
