Obituary of Esther M. Callahan

Esther M. Callahan passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Conneaut Medical Center on November 22, 2015.
Lifelong resident of Ohio, she was born on November 7, 1920 in Cleveland to Robert and Althea (Cummins) Webb. Esther attended Stephens College. She worked as a legal secretary in downtown Cleveland and continued secretarial work after moving to Conneaut for Exomet and Molded Fiberglass.
Avid collectors of antiques, she and her husband Alton ran a shop in Kingsville. Esther was a member of the Dusty Boots Club. She was a voracious reader and had many other interests including, taking violin and ballet lessons, horseback riding, sewing, quilting, gardening, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Esther enjoyed nature, especially flowers, birds and other wildlife.
She is survived by nephew George Novak of Denver, PA.; niece Rhonda Alperin of Greenville, S. C.; niece by marriage, Carol Miller Novak of Saybrook, OH.; step children Martin (Diane) Callahan and John (Sandi) Callahan of Big Timber, Mo. and Barbara Hood of Erie, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Callahan; her parents Althea and Robert Webb; a sister Martha and her husband Jim Novak; and nephew Ken Novak.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Center Cemetery, Conneaut.
