Obituary of Betty M. Wilson

Betty M. Wilson, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Saybrook Landing. Betty was born on March 2, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia the daughter of Harry Leroy and Mabel (nee Harrison) Carter. She later moved to Texas with the love of her life, Roy Wilson. After Roy's passing she moved to Conneaut to be with her daughter. While in Texas she was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Kennedale and would later attend the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God and the Conneaut Church of God. Betty loved cooking, baking and crocheting. She loved reaching out to people and many of those people she helped received many of her baked goods and crochet. Betty loved to yard sale and had a special spot in her heart for animals, especially cats. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughter, Mary (Edward) Copeland of Conneaut; son, Sam (Susan) Martin, of Texas; brother, Willard Carter, of West Virginia; sister, Oneita Marsh of Dayton; grandchildren, Christina (Bill) Belz of Williamsfield, David (Lorie) Ray of Conneaut, Ed (Shannon) Copeland, III of Ashtabula, Timothy Copeland of Ashtabula, Thomas (Vanessa) Copeland of Jefferson and Laura Ann of Nevada; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; dearest friend, Suzy Sweet; and her beloved cat, Tiger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy S. Wilson in 2007; granddaughter, Kelly; and two grandsons, Derrick and Jayden. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Pastor Carson Robson of the Conneaut Church of God, officiating. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Saybrook Landing and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and compassion they showed to Betty.
