Obituary of Richard Thomas Shusky

Richard Thomas Shusky, 80, of Painesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday August 18, 2016 in Heartland of Mentor.
Richard was born on October 21, 1935 in Cleveland the son of Thomas and Helen (nee Lynch) Shusky. He served as a Medic in the Korean War conflict on a LST ship. Member of the American Legion & VFW. Dedicated, loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. Hobbies included, coaching softball, fishing, enthusiast of Ohio sports. Retired employee of The East Ohio Gas Company 35 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Janet (nee Mckee) Shusky. 6 children straight out of Euclid. Maureen A. Ricewick, Theresa J. Lapuh, Ann M. Shusky, James A. Shusky, Jennifer L.Shusky, and John R. Shusky; grandchildren, Shannon M. Menaldino, Leah K. Shusky and Nathan A. Lapuh; great grandson, Eric Bullock.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents;brother David Shusky; and son-in-laws, Ronald F. Lapuh and Chris O. Ricewick.
A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, August 24th 2016 at 6:00 P.M., at Prince of Peace Church, 7193 Reynolds, Rd. (Rt 306), Mentor with Rev. Ken Sowers, officiating.
At Shuskys' request his ashes will be inurned in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Richard may be given to the City Mission, 5310 Carnegie Ave, Cleveland, OH, 44103 or Heartland Hospice, 4807 Rockside Rd., Ste 110, Independence, Oh., 44131-2140
