Obituary of Raymond D. Reed

Raymond D. Reed, 80, of Kingsville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2016. He was born on June 6, 1936 in Kingsville, the son of Mable Irene (Tuttle) and William Haskell Reed. Raymond graduated from Kingsville High School Class of 1954 and would serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life Elizabeth Muchiarone on June 4, 1960 in Conneaut, Ohio. Raymond was employed with CEI, retiring in 1993. Ray was strong in his faith and was a member of the Conneaut Church of Christ. He enjoyed socializing and visiting area coffee shops and restaurants, where he met many people, shared his love of God and would get the latest "scoop." Mr. Reed enjoyed "dinking" and was very handy. He also enjoyed woodworking and made many bookshelves, bird houses and wooden trains. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Reed; daughter, Alicia (Amy) Reed, of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Jeffrey (Debbie) Reed of Kingsville; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Reed of North Canton; grandchildren, Jessica Joelle Reed, Jessica Paige Reed, Jenele (Nate) Marshall, Daniel (Amanda) Reed and Sydney Tyner; great-grandchildren, Calvin, William and Henry Marshall and Nora Reed; sisters, Mary (Duane) Hatch of Kingsville and Frances Hatch of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Reed; brothers, Howard, Richard, Robert and John Reed; and sisters, Grace Kotnick, Louise Scott and Jeanette Hinkle. A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Conneaut Church of Christ, 448 W. Main Rd., Conneaut, with Rev. Tim Kraus, officiating. Friends and family may gather at the church on Monday, September 12 from 5 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11AM. He will be inurned at LuLu Falls Cemetery at a private family service.
