Obituary of Beverly Owen

Beverly J. Owen, 91, of Conneaut passed away October 12, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Beverly was born in Conneaut on March 18, 1927 to Ward E. Hill and Dorothy F. (Lyon) Hill. She graduated from Conneaut High School in 1945 and was employed as a bookkeeper in local businesses until her marriage on November 19, 1955 to Warren A. Owen, who preceded her in death on January 5, 2002. She is survived by her sister, Grayce A. Hill (Conneaut OH); her five daughters: Heather A. (Thomas Kokenge) Owen, Shorewood WI; Alice J. (Bruce Clough) Owen-Clough, Xenia OH; Dorothy K. (David) Myers, Moneta VA; Sally R. (William) Hollingshead, Suffolk VA; and Roberta G. (Russell Shields) Owen, Ashtabula OH; as well as by four grandchildren Bridgett Clough, Duncan Clough, Robert (Marcie) Myers, Charles Myers; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Myers and Cooper Myers; and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. Beverly was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, a member of Eastern Star, the Conneaut Community Center, the USS Cabot Association, and the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association. She was proud to have been a "Stay At Home Mom" and loved supporting the activities her daughters participated in - even when truckloads of Girl Scout Cookies were involved. She was a constant source of love, advice, and support to her family as well as a second mother to all who knew her. Beverly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, taking pictures, gardening, preserving fresh food for her family, and being a friend to her neighbors. Calling hours will be held, Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 10:00AM-12:00Noon at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where services will follow at 12:00Noon, with Pastor Jan Walsh, officiating. Eastern Star Services will be observed during funeral service. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
