Obituary of Lynda Jean English

CONNEAUT- Lynda Jean English, 63, of Conneaut passed away peacefully, Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 22, 1951 in Conneaut the daughter of Ernest and Marguerite (Davies) Hall. She graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1970, and had remained a lifelong Conneaut resident. Lynda married the love of her life Gary English on January 6, 1976. She was a longtime member of the American Legion and the Conneaut Moose Lodge. She enjoyed traveling, watching soap operas, and old movies. Lynda faithfully played the Ohio and Pennsylvania Lottery, hoping to one day strike it rich. Lynda is survived by her daughter, Christina (William McFadden) English; her mother Marguerite Hall; grandson, Carlos DeJesus; brother, Ernest (Sheila) Hall, all of Conneaut; step-sons, Gary English of Kentucky, and Anthony and Clifford English of Florida; as well as her friend and companion, John McCorkle, and good friend Debbie Somppi, both of Conneaut. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary in 2006; and her father, Ernest Hall. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with Pastor Tim Kraus, of the Conneaut Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 10 until the time of service at 11 at the funeral home.
