Obituary of Charles Garrigus
Charles Roger Garrigus, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
He was Born Jan. 26, 1941 in Meadville Pa. the son of Charles and Janet Garrigus (Hesling).
He graduated from Meadville High School and attended Penn State University.
He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Uncle and long-time loving partner of Patricia Laughlin.
He loved being outdoors, involved for years camping, gardening, hunting, fishing and boating
Spent many years as an avid rock-hound dragging his family all over the country looking for the perfect specimens. Designing and making his own jewelry from those collections. And an animal
Lover. Always had a dog(s) and other pets near his side.
Always an athletic and active person his whole life. He was involved in High School and college sports. Avid Golfer, bowler, Darts, played on many leagues throughout his life.
Enjoyed traveling of which he did extensively with Pat in their later years.
Member of the Elks Lodge #256, Moose Lodge #472, and the VFW. Always a sports fan, rooting for his favorite teams, the Pittsburg Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Always had a strong entrepreneurial spirt. Going out on his own and starting his own company.
Which he ran for the last 20 years before his retirement.
Very capable and talented in many areas. The type of guy who never had to call a repair man.
He could fix anything.
Roger is survived by his sons, Robert Garrigus and Mark (Wanda) Garrigus; granddaughter,
Shelby Garrigus; sister Kaye (Vic) Spradlin; nieces and nephews, Brian (Tereasa) Weaver,
Debbie (Mike) Clark and Dyonne Weaver; and Pat's children, Tina (Patrick Ogren) Curtis and
Ed (Kayla Johnson) Laughlin; and many great-nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in Death by his Mother and Father; and longtime loving girlfriend Pat Laughlin.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5-7 at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt
Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Conneaut. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, October 27,
2018 at 1:00PM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
