Obituary of Katherine A. Bertolasio

Katherine A. Bertolasio, 69, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 30, 2019 at University Hospital Main Campus after a brief illness. She was born on September 11, 1949 in Sharon, Pennsylvania the daughter of Ralph and Marjorie (nee McGaffic) George. Kathy graduated from Kennedy Christian High School Class of 1967. She attempted nursing school twice, but life and love took precedence. Kathy married the love of her life, George E. Bertolasio on September 5, 1970 in Sharon. For several years she was employed with the Fazio Grocery Store and Giant Eagle in Conneaut. She was very crafty, made many doll outfits and enjoyed quilting. Kathy also enjoyed collecting dolls. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Kathy also loved her pets dearly. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, George E. Bertolasio; sons, Edward (Jennie), Michael (Lindsay) and Barry; daughter, Joy (Greg) LaRue; grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, Brian, Alex, Tyler, Josh, Natalie, Alissa, Bria, and Bennett; great-grandchildren, Carson, Mia, Brandon and Elliott; sister, Cindy (William) Kapusta; and a brother, Brad (Beth) George. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Lynn Bertolasio; and a brother, Barry George. Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5-8PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 2PM. Memorials in her memory may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
