Obituary of Norma Lee Getson

Norma L. Getson, 84, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Villa at the Lake.

She was born September 15, 1935 in Moscow, Maryland the daughter of the late Peter and Charlotte (Beeman) Muir. Norma married the love of her life, Jacob H. Getson, Sr. on November 7, 1953.

Norma was a faithful member of Monroe United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing for her family and playing BINGO. She will be remembered for her bread, fudge and her coconut cream pie. Norma enjoyed helping people whenever and wherever she could. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Brian) Ringleben of Texas, Doreen (Kip) Howard of North Kingsville, Melissa (Ben) McAmis of Kent; son, William (Janet) Getson of Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Rae (Allan) Stuntz; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Jacob, Sr. in 2008; sons, Wayne Getson and Jacob Getson, Jr.; eleven brothers and sisters; and her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 4PM at the Thompson-Smith-

Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with Rev. Julie Applegate of the Monroe United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2PM until the time of service.

Inurnment will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville at the convenience of the family
