Barbara J. Schlaefer, 63, passed away peacefully, February 6, 2020 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 18, 1957in Geneva, Pennsylvania the daughter of Burt and Rosemary (Miller) Seegert. Barbara was a simple person, she enjoyed watching crime shows like Law and Order, puzzle books. But most of all she enjoyed the company of her family and shared a special bond with grandson TJ. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Wendi (Travis) Sines; grandchildren, Natalie (Roman) Bertolasio and T.J. Sines; siblings, Bruce (Sharon) Seegert, Tom (Doreen Wilcox) Seegert, Duane Seegert, Cheryl Potter, and Judy Sillanpaa; and her good friend Yong she met at the nursing home as well as countless others who became close to her.
She was preceded in death by her dog Foo, and her parents.
A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Austinburg Nursing Home and her nurses from Bella Care Hospice, especially her nurse Rhonda Updyke for the care and comfort they provided Barbara until the end.
