Obituary of Anne Widmann

Conneaut- Anne Widmann, 86, formerly of Reig Avenue, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born on April 8, 1933, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Thelma (Andrews) Hamilton. Anne graduated from Dana Hall preparatory school in Wellesley, Massachusetts, attended Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio, and received her bachelor's degree from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. She previously attended New Leaf United Methodist Church. Anne was a loving and devoted mother, a boastfully doting and attentive grandmother and great-grandmother. Her favorite activities included cooking, baking, golfing, restaurant adventures with her friends, and bridge. She was an exceptional knitter, and a very competitive card player, especially with her grandchildren. Anne enjoyed traveling to visit her family and sister across the country and abroad to see her sister, nieces and great-nieces in England. Her quick wit would leave you in tears, and her smile would melt your heart. Anne is survived by her children Elizabeth "Betsy" (Brad) Kearns, Susan Widmann, Carolyn Lewis and William (Sherry) Widmann; sister, Susan Kellas; grandchildren Kearns and Rachel Kearns, Stan (Stephanie) Widmann, Taylor (Nick) Newberry, Ashley Rowe, Samantha Lewis, Madeline, Chloe, and James Hamilton Widmann; and many beautiful great-grandchildren; nieces Hannah, Sarah and several great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Albert "Jerry" Widmann; sister, Nancy Landau; and her parents. A memorial service will be on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut.
