Conneaut- Carolyn Jane Lewis, 59, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 due to complications from diabetes.

She was born on December 14, 1960 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of Albert "Jerry" and Anne H. Widmann. Carolyn graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1978.

Carolyn had a huge heart and was happiest helping others. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Ashley and Samantha, and a compassionate caregiver and companion during the final years of her own mother's life. Carolyn was good-natured in all things and at all times, yet she also had a fierce will which carried her through her own long and difficult battle with the health issues that finally took her from this world. Her distinctive voice was instantly recognizable and usually accompanied by an infectious laugh. Carolyn loved gardening and relaxing with her cats.

For years she worked as a cook at various Conneaut restaurants and was always eager to please her customers whether they be family, friends or complete strangers. To many, Carolyn will be fondly remembered for her lifelong passion for cooking and baking through which she touched many a life.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Ashley Rowe and Samantha (Ryan Todd, Sr.) Lewis; grandchildren, Miya Nemergut, Paige, Bailey and Eyden Provan, Dustin Lewis and Ryan Todd, Jr.; siblings, Betsy (Brad) Kearns of Minneapolis, MN, Susan Widmann of Frisco, Tx, and Bill Widmann of Asheville, NC., nieces/nephews, Stan (Stephanie) Widmann, Taylor (Nick) Newberry, Emily and Rachel Kearns, Maddy, Chloe and Jimmy Widmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Anne Widmann.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1PM at the Thompson Smith Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where friends and family will be received from 12 Noon until time of service at 1PM. Following the service Carolyn and her mother, Anne will be inurned at Glenwood Cemetery.
