Ashtabula- Kathleen A. Parsons, 60, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 after a perfect weekend spent with her most beloved family and friends. Always helping those in need, Kathy will give the gift of life to many through her final act of organ donation. Kathy was born on January 13, 1960 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of Raymond A. Cole, Jr. and Doris A. (Reinke) Cole. She graduated from Conneaut High School. Kathy retired from the Ashtabula County Nursing Home after 34 years of service in the medical records department. After retirement, she became an STNA with Geneva Sanctuary. Kathy loved helping people, and she was very caring and generous with her time. She volunteered with the Monroe Sirens, where she held many offices. She also spent time volunteering with the Conneaut Thrift Shop. A lifelong traveler, Kathy loved to camp, take bus trips, and see all of the wonderful places in this world. Additionally, Kathy loved spending time with her friends. They could often be found around her kitchen table playing cards or board games. Kathy's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her generous heart and giving spirit will live on in her two beautiful daughters, who could not have loved their mother anymore. Kathy shone brightest when around her grandchildren. In becoming a grandmother, Kathy became a best friend, a provider, and a goofball with her dearest little grandkids, who always looked at her and with love in their eyes. Kathy is survived by her daughters, Cassandra (Kelly) McMasters-Parsons and Alicia (Jeremy) Kightlinger; her "adopted daughter" Andrea "Andy" (Jonathan) Leap; grandchildren, Jackson, Paxton, Abigail and Gunner; brother, Roger (Rachel) Cole; long-time friend, Shem Parsons; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Alice and Harry Reinke and Susan and Raymond Cole, Sr.; and a brother, James Cole. Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 1PM-3PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where funeral services will follow at 3PM with her brother Roger Cole, officiating.
