Conneaut- James M. Thornton, Jr., 82, died October 16, 2020 at the Ashtabula County Club after a brief illness.
He was born on March 7, 1938 in Conneaut, Ohio the son of James M. Thornton, Sr. and Eileen Smith Thornton. Jim attended Rowe High School, enlisting in the United States Army, serving honorably from 1959 until 1962. He worked for several years as a railroad engineer.
Jim was a member of the Lighthouse Cruisers and the American Legion. He enjoyed detailing cars and traveling to Florida.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Trisha (Steven) Main; and his longtime friend, Marilyn Anderson.
Private family services will be observed. Inurnment will take place at East Conneaut Cemetery, where he will be buried with his parents.
