Dear Fred, Cheryl, Laurie, Marcia and Jeff and family: Today's memorial service to honor your beloved mother was very moving and beautiful. It brought back many happy memories of Aunt Ruth and all of you when we were growing up. Aunt Ruth was the matriarch of the Raines Family on my mother's side of the family. Harry and Jeannette Zollars loved your mother very much and I know they will keep an eye on her now that she has entered the heavenly kingdom, along with many of our family who are no longer with us. I will always remember her for her sweetness, gentle heart, beautiful smile, kind soul - always accommodating anyone who visited her home. She had a great sense of humor as well. I told a couple of my cousins that for some reason she got a kick out of me and thought I was funny. I recall her saying to me after a visit as an adult: "Ronnie, you always make me laugh!" That made me feel good as I always enjoy making someone's day a bit lighter if possible. A life well lived! Aunt Ruth was an exemplary shining light for all of you and will be dearly missed, and was blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive family.
