Monroe Township- Susan Lawson, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at her home. Susan was born on January 26, 1942 in Conneaut the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Smith) Ferl. She graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1960. Susan married the love of her life, Fred Lawson on January 25, 1964. A lifelong resident of the area, in the early 70's she was the leader of the all-girl polka band, Susie Q's, where she played the accordion at many venues in the county. Always on the go, she loved bling, shopping and grabbing a bargain, whether she needed it or not. Susan was an avid collector of many things, including various clocks. She also loved animals and always had dogs, cats and birds at her home. She was a member of the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God. Susan is survived by her children, Jim Lawson and Tammy Lawson; grandchildren, Cullen (Jen Hinkle) McCoy, Meghan McCoy, Alexandria McCoy; great-grandchildren, Jadyn Lawson, Sasha Bowers, Liam Lawson and Elden Monroe McCoy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Fred Monroe Lawson. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 6PM-7PM at the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God, 2221 Cook Rd., Ashtabula with Rev. Kenny Roberts, officiating.
