Pierpont- Edwin W. “Captain Ed,” Hannold, 59 of Pierpont, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Bethel, Alaska.

Ed worked as a boat captain pushing supplies up the Yukon River and Alaskan coast for the past 41 years. In the off season, Ed enjoyed building things and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hannold of Pierpont; parents, Walter and Doris Hannold of Pierpont; daughter, Sara Guinn of Alaska; brother, Matthew (Dora) Hannold of North Kingsville; stepchildren, Amy (Chris Dube) Cyr and David Rosebrook; grandchildren, Ryan Hutchinson, Neveah Johnston, Aidan Johnston, Bruce Rosebrook, Vernin Rosebrook, Carlene Dube, and Joe Dube; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Hutchinson; and his brother, Timothy Hannold, Sr.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, October 10, 2021, at 4:00PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where a time of fellowship will be had from 2PM until the time of service at 4PM.
