James C Tanner Obituary

Conneaut- James C. Tanner, 74, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at UH-Ahuja Medical Center.


Jim was born on April 7, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Frank R. and Frances S. (Wilson) Tanner. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, retiring after 27 years of service as a quartermaster. Jim was also employed with Seeley Medical as a logistics supervisor, in addition to working as the maintenance supervisor at the Ashtabula Mall.


He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151, Conneaut Historical Society, and the Gateway Outdoor Learning Center.


Jim is survived by his wife, Maurine A. (Jackson) Tanner, who truly loved him till the day he passed. They married on his birthday April 7, 1979; children, Sandra Lorraine Tanner, Ronna Lynn Bergamini and Elizabeth Ann Joachim; grandchildren, Katherine, Jennifer, Robert, and MacKenzie; and his brothers, John, and Bob (Cathy) Tanner.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 11:00 to 1:00PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut where funeral services will follow at 1:00PM with Pastor Russ Ham, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, where military honors will be performed by American Legion Cowle Post #151.


Should friends desire memorials in his memory may be made to the Ashtabula APL, 5970 Green Rd., Ashtabula. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
