Conneaut- Margaret Lyon, 81, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

She was born on September 10, 1940, in Conneaut the daughter of Lynn T. and Ruby P. (Wise) Lucas. Margaret graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1958.

Margaret was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, attending First United Methodist and now New Leaf UMC. She was a 30-year staff member of Conneaut Area City Schools, working as a paraprofessional, dedicated to the Special Education Department at the high school, helping many kids with various types of learning challenges obtain their high school diploma. Over the years, she touched hundreds, if not thousands of children's lives.

Through the years, she stayed active by volunteering with the Conneaut Thrift Barn, Gray Ladies at UH-Conneaut Hospital and D-Day.

Margaret was a wife for 61 years, a sister, aunt and mom, mother-in-law, grandma, and great grandma. Family was always first, she was loving and kind, loyal and a fierce protector. She was fun and could be a stinker as well. Cross her, or step out of line, and look out!

Margaret was a member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge and Conneaut Eagles, where she enjoyed playing "Joe's" with Julie and catching up with her friends. She enjoyed watching the Indians, Browns, Ohio State and Michigan State.

She is survived by her husband James H. Lyon; son, Scott (Elaine) Lyon; daughter, Julie (Mark) Sedmak; grandchildren, Mark Sedmak, Dr. Jay (Tiffany Lyon, Esq) Lyon and Katie Lyon, MSW; great-granddaughter, Olivia; dear sister, Sandra (Steve) Horvath; and a niece and nephew, Suzanne Horvath and Steve (Heidi Parkomaki) Horvath.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services were observed at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, where she was entombed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in her name be given to the Conneaut Area City Schools, High School Special Education Department, 230 Gateway Ave., STE B, Conneaut, Ohio, 44030
