CONNEAUT- Mildred Maria Polk, 97, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Villa at the Lake. She was born, November 16, 1916, in Conneaut the daughter of the late Leonard M. and Ethel (Callahan) Lilly, and had remained a lifelong area resident. Mildred enjoyed traveling with her husband Stephen and helping care for her neighbors. She loved her pets, and also planting her flower garden which included a variety of plants and trees, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by her sons, son, Stephen W. Polk, Jr. (fiancée, Alice L. Mackey); grandsons, Stephen W. Polk III (wife, Sonya) and Wesley J. Polk, as well as numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen W. Polk, Sr. in 2010; her children, Faye Marie and Charles; her brother Charles Lilly; sisters, Francis Richardson and June Hodgins; and her parents. The family wishes to Thank the staff of the Villa at the Lake and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and comfort they provided for Mildred and the family. At her request cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
