Mary E. Moyer Obituary

Mary E. (Eddy) Moyer, 77, formerly of Albion, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the home of her daughter, where she had resided the past five years.


She was born on March 24, 1945 in Erie, Pennsylvania the daughter of George "Bill" and Vernola (Edwards) Eddy. Mary graduated from Northwestern High School Class of 1963 and the Texas Institute of Banking.


She was an avid volunteer and was passionate about serving her community. Among the many groups that benefited from that passion, was the NWH Marching Band Boosters, West County Paramedic Association, Erie County National Democratic Committee, Albion Volunteer Fire Department, Finch Float Memorial, NWH Class of 1963 Reunion Committee and was a past event coordinator for the Albion Area Fair Queen.


Her family will remember her love of modern technology, recalling how she was around at the "invention" of the ATM and loved the idea! Mary also loved reading and being with family and friends at bingo.


Mary was a devout catholic and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Albion, where she was a member of the Alter Rosary Society.


She retired from PNC Bank, Erie, where she was employed for 27 years. She also enjoyed her work with Texas Forum Bank, in Arlington, Texas, as well as Steinhoff's Golden Dawn in Albion.


Mary is survived by a son, Christopher J. (Diana) Moyer of Edinboro; daughter, Angel M. (Rich) Hannold of Pierpont, Ohio; grandchildren, Meagan (Chris Kitchen) Moyer, Danielle (Aubrey) Hallas and Austin Moyer; great-grandchildren, Blake, Jacob, Christopher, Caroline, Chaz, and soon to be born, Emma; sister, Nancy Eddy of Pittsburgh; and her dear friends, James and Cathy Hudacky, of Cranesville, and Ken and Bobbie Steinhoff of Albion.


She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Clifford E. Moyer, whom she married on September 11, 1964; step-daughter, Suzen Moyer; and her dear sister, Joyce Ann Eddy.


The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, Ashtabula Team.


Calling hours will be held, Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 2PM-5PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where a prayer service will be held at 4:30PM, with Donna Caputo, officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, November 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM, with Father Marc Solomon, celebrating, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 180 E. State St., Albion. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Cranesville.


Memorials in her memory may be given to the family.
