Please share a memory of Sara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Conneaut- Sara Lynn Picard, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Tri-Point Medical Center, of COVID. She was born on November 28, 1951 in Conneaut, Ohio the eldest daughter of James Albert and Barbara (Rossman) Picard. Sara graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1970 and later earned an associate's degree in business from Kent State, Ashtabula, though she'd been managing the books for her father's business since the 8th grade and needed little in terms of outside substantiation. Sara had a very close relationship with her mother, as she'd helped her care for her younger siblings. They, and Sara's friends, remember her as being generous and supportive. She was always eager to help navigate a difficult time; dusting you off, polishing you up, and leading you, instead, to having the time of your life. Hers was a soul of vibrant tenacity. Never content to follow, preferring to brave her own path, she was free-spirited, fun loving, and the life of any party. Like Cyndi Lauper, Sara just wanted to have fun, and like Sinatra, she did it her way. In the end, she wrestled with that. And it was beautiful. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Jerry (Lynn) Picard of Lenox, Patricia (Richard) Meeker of Conneaut, Janiece (David) Bennett of Newnan, Georgia, Suzette Burr of Homosassa, Florida, and Robert (Cindy Swank) Picard of Sagamore Hills; and will be forever adored by her loving nieces and nephews. Sara was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services will be observed. She will be inurned at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut. Online guestbook and condolences available at www.thompsonsmithnesbitt.com
