Conneaut- Joan R. Campbell, 86, passed away peacefully Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 with her family at her side. She was born in Cochranton, Pennsylvania on December 17, 1936 the daughter of Harold and Arlene (Kimmel) Feldmiller. Joan graduated from Cochranton High School Class of 1954. She worked at Leta's Grocery Store after graduation, and later was employed at Talon, in Meadville, Pennsylvania where she met her future husband, Donald "Dick" Campbell, and they married in June 1956 and were married for 47 years until his passing 2004. Together they moved to Conneaut, Ohio where she lived in the same home for 58 years. Joan was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom, raising her five children. Joan enjoyed being the home room mother for her children at different times. She enjoyed going to her daughter's ball games, watching her son Dave race at Raceway 7 as well as watching him in the tractor pull contests. Joan loved taking care of her horses and enjoyed riding them on the property. Her love of horses was shared with her granddaughters and enjoyed watching them at their horse shows. Joan loved playing cards with family and time spent together, especially at Christmas time. She is survived by her children, Linda (Richard) Obeshaw, Christal (Robert) Williams, David (Shelley) Campbell, Catherine (Charles) Rawlins and Ruth (Robert) Mackey; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Campbell; sister, Jane DeVillars. At her request, private services will be observed on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with Pastor Tim Kraus, officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Joan may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
