Obituary of Florence Ida Vesey

Florence I. Vesey, 90, of Kingsville passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Villa at the Lake. She was born on December 22, 1933 in Austinburg the daughter of Roy F. and Ruth M. (Harper) Mead. Florence graduated from Austinburg High School Class of 1951. She married the love of her life, Philip C. Vesey on June 19, 1955 in Austinburg, Ohio. Florence and Philip were active members of the Gageville United Methodist Church where they served on many committees over the years. Alongside her husband they owned and operated Vesey trucking company. Florence and Phil enjoyed line dancing, bowling, and traveling the country. Their six week motorhome trip to Alaska was one of their favorite memories. Florence was also active with a Literacy volunteer group, she loved to swim , birdwatch and bake. The family will greatly miss her famous cookies and pies. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Keller of Kent, OH and Beverly (Mark) Christy of Conneaut; son, Roger (Penya) Vesey of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Morgan, Brian (Carrie Williams) Tinker, Amy Keller, and Marisa (Michael) Pal; and ten great-grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Chance, Cole, Natalia, Ali, and Bella Morgan, Maddie and Quinn Winter, and Maci Pal. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Philip; brothers, Francis, Howard, and Donald Mead; sisters, Alta Smith, Edith Smith, Helen Mead, Margaret Fronce, and baby Jean Mead in infancy; and her parents.. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 12-2PM at the Gageville United Methodist Church, 4063 State Route 193, Kingsville, where funeral services will follow at 2PM, with Rev. Terry Simpson, officiating, Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
