Conneaut- Victor J. Summers, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Villa at the Lake, where he resided the past several years.

He was born on November 10, 1932 in Conneaut, Ohio the son of Roy C. and Eva P. (nee: Van Gorder) Summers. Vic married the love his life, Joan M. Makynen on December 14, 1951 and together they celebrated 69 years of marriage until her passing in 2021. He retired from East Ohio Gas in 1991. Victor was a long-time member of the Gageville Methodist Church.

A man of many talents, he was proud of the home he built in Gageville. He also enjoyed helping others, performing various jobs, from working on cars to building an addition or other various projects that needed completed. He also cherished his family, enjoyed going on family vacations, camping, boating, fishing, and simply spending time with his wife and children. He was blessed to be able to winter in Leesburg, Florida for many years with his wife Joan, and always looked forward to traveling south each year.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Linda McCroskey, David (Judy) Summers and Matthew (Robin) Summers; grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Colucci, Lisa McCroskey, Erin (Andy) Hays, Matthew “Tae” (Tommie) Summers; and his great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lexie, Madison, Lilly, Lenox, Jonas and Nate.

Vic was preceded in death by his parents; beloved Wife Joan M. Summers; daughter, Diane Stern; son-in-law, Mike McCroskey; and his siblings, Don, Harold, Roy, and David Summers, Esther Penniman, and Dorothy Makynen.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 1PM-2PM at Gageville Methodist Church, 4071 OH-193, Kingsville, where a funeral service will follow at 2:00PM, with Pastor Terry Simpson, officiating. Burial will follow at Gageville Cemetery.
