Conneaut- Phyllis A. Searles, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, although her departure was unexpected and her time all too short here, we are rejoicing that she's been reunited with her beloved husband, Richard E. Searles, whom she had married on November 26, 1960 and had celebrated 60 years of marriage, until his passing in 2020.

Phyllis was born on December 1, 1934 in Conneaut the daughter of Harry and Alice Marie (nee: Cloud) Shideler. She graduated from Rowe High School Class of 1952 and graduated from Hamot School of Nursing in 1955. Phyllis worked most of her career at Brown Memorial Hospital. She was a faithful member of the Conneaut Church of Christ.

Phyllis enjoyed reading, working in her yard and planting flowers. In her younger years, she and Richard enjoyed camping and trips to New York to the Cabin and snowmobiling.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Richard B. Searles; grandchildren, Stefani (Allison Burns) Perry, Danielle (Mitchell) Reeder, Justin (Alexis Tran) Searles, and Jillian Searles; great-grandson, Reign and Journey Reader; and her beloved dog, Cookie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Richard Searles.

A funeral service will be held, Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00PM at Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, where friends and family will be received from 11:00AM until the time of service at 12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be given to the Conneaut Church of Christ, 448 W. Main Rd., Conneaut, Ohio 44004.
