David R. LeVesque Obituary

Conneaut- It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, “Old Man,” and friend to many. David R. LeVesque, 54, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born on August 25, 1969 to Patricia (McAninch) LeVesque and the late Rene A. LeVesque. David was a 1987 graduate of Conneaut High School. He dedicated his life to creating a place where people can come in as strangers and leave as friends and family. Evergreen Campground has been his home for the majority of his life, including the last 20 years of ownership. In that time, to many of you, he became family. Dave was the kind of guy that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Dave was a family man and loved his black lab, Reagan. He enjoyed time with the grandkids, and they loved their Old Man. Dave also enjoyed being outside or taking his GMC for a cruise. If you couldn’t find him at camp, he had probably taken off on a road trip to Florida, often in search of a new toy or to buy/sell something. If he wasn’t in Florida, there was a chance he was taking the scenic route on his motorcycle or headed out with the camper on one of his many trips with the gang. The many “hour long” lunches at local restaurants, where politics and world problems were often discussed, but seldom solved, will be remembered by many of his friends and family. In addition, he loved coaching soccer at CLYO and he cherished those times helping the kids.

David leaves behind his legacy in his beloved wife, Jennifer (Bennett) LeVesque, whom he married on March 21, 1997; son, Steven (Shaylynn) LeVesque; daughter, Stephanie (Jordan) Briggs; mother, Patricia L. LeVesque; grandchildren, Everly, Harlie, Blake, Weston, and Owen; brother, Daniel LeVesque; his Florida son, Jake Scherr; his black lab, Reagan; and many extended family and friends who meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rene A. LeVesque; and his grandparents, George and Nadine McAninch.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 1-6PM at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, Ohio, where a time of remarks will follow at 6:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that items and donations for the Ashtabula APL be brought to the gathering to stuff the van, in his memory.

Your life was a blessing, your memory is a treasure, you are loved beyond words and are already missed beyond measure. We love you and know that you’re already up there catching up on lost time with Ren and Carl. Until we see you again, may you rest in peace.
