Obituary of Rose Ann Herl

SHEFFIELD TWP. - Rose Ann Herl, 71, of Dewey Road, Sheffield Twp., passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 Rose Ann was born in Conneaut, Ohio on December 31, 1942 the daughter of Elwin A. and Charlotte (Dewey) Olin. She graduated from Kingsville High School Class of 1960 and received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1965. Rose Ann married the love of her life, Russell Norm Herl on September 24, 1966 in Gageville. For 40 years, Mrs. Herl served as a pharmacist at various hospitals, local pharmacies and drug stores in the Ashtabula area. Rose Ann was a lifelong member of Gageville United Methodist Church, where she served as pianist for the church choir, Sunday school teacher and volunteer for vacation bible school. She is survived by her loving husband, Russell Norm Herl of 47 years; daughter, Justine (Graham) Shearstone of Stetson, ME; son, Richard (Darci) Herl of Holt, MI; brother, David (Elizabeth) Olin of Toledo, OH; and sister, Ida Mae Olin of Ashtabula, OH. Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents. Her compassionate care, grace and heartfelt understanding touched many in the community. Funeral services will be held, Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gageville United Methodist Church, Rt. 193, with Rev. David Blood, officiating. Burial will follow at Gageville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, on Thursday, June 26, from 5 to 7 PM.
