Obituary of Helen M. Wiley

Helen M. Wiley, 84, of Conneaut, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Villa at the Lake. She was born June 11, 1929 in Monroe Township and was the daughter of Otto M. and Esther A. (Brown) Brown. Mrs. Wiley graduated from the Rowe High School Class of 1947 and was employed with Webb Manufacturing for 14 years. She married the love of her life Donald E. Wiley, on her 19th birthday, June 11, 1948. She was a lifelong member of State Line United Methodist Church and the Monroe Grange. Helen enjoyed sewing, baking, crocheting, bowling and in her younger years barrel racing with her horse, "Dolly." She looked forward to playing bingo with her friends at the Villa and cherished the time she spent with her family. Mrs. Wiley is survived by her children, Betty C. (Dennis) Stevens of Painesville, Bonnie C. (Joseph) Roach of Cary, N.C., Barbara C. (Roger) Storozuk of Brecksville, David E. (Dawn) Wiley of Conneaut, Donna (Drew Hazzlerigg) Wiley of Helotes, TX, Deborah (Ronald) Keyes of Conneaut, Pamela (Franny Piazza) Wiley of Erie, PA and Patricia L. (Doug) Rudler of Conneaut; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna M. Hoffeditz of Brazil, IN; and brother, Wilbur Brown of Erie, PA. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald E. Wiley in 2004; sister, Dorothy Hicks; and her parents. Funeral services will be held, TODAY, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Rev. David Blood, of Stateline United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at East Conneaut Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, TODAY, Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 11 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Helen, may be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004.
