John R. "Bob" Kangas, 74, of W. Main Rd., passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at UH- Case Medical Center. Born April 17, 1938, in Warren, Ohio the son of Andy Kangas and Nina (Perkins) and Charles J. Rozalski, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Over the years he worked for the railroad and the dock company but retired from Emco Wheaten after around 20 years of service. Bob was a former member of the Moose Lodge, but he ultimately lived for his children and grandchildren. He was a very active role model for them and was always there for them when they needed him. He will greatly be missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Dalrymple (Darrell Sanson Jr.) of Monroe Twp.; son, Gerald Kangas of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Nicole Dalrymple (Ahmad Saleh) of Brooklyn, OH, Timothy Dalrymple, Jr. of Conneaut, and Alice Dalrymple of Monroe Twp.; sisters Eleanor Torres (Ray Dillon) of Ashtabula, and Carol Rozalski of Ashtabula; brothers, Charles "John" (Bonnie) Rozalski of Conneaut, and James Rozalski of Linesville, PA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends who all adored him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maryann Shubbuck; brother, Phillip R. Rozalski; and sister-in-law, Edith Rozalski. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 AM, at the Conneaut Church of God, 5327 Center Rd. (Rte. 7), Conneaut with Pastor Carson Robson officiating. Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, Ohio, and on Friday, from 10-11 AM at the church. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his name to the family.
