Obituary of James A. Cole

Middleburg Heights- James A. Cole, 61, of Parma, passed away unexpectedly at Southwest General Hospital on Saturday, January 11, 2014. James was born in Conneaut, Ohio on August 7, 1952 the son of Doris A. (nee Reinke) and Raymond A. Cole, Jr. He was a Conneaut High School Class of 1970 graduate. He graduated from Kent State University and John Carroll University. Jim was retired as a teacher from the Ohio Department of Education. He was an avid reader, always had a puzzle book nearby, enjoyed card games, traveling, going to the casino and playing bingo. Jim always kept his mind busy. He loved going to movies and attended many plays. Jim enjoyed going on yearly vacations with his sister Kathy and her family. Mr. Cole is survived by his sister, Kathy Parsons; brother, Roger (Rachel) Cole; brother-in-law, Shem Parsons; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Tammi) Cole, Rebekah (Joe) Cotroneo, Jonathan (Tasha) Cole; Cassandra Parsons and Alicia Parsons; great-nieces and nephews, Addie, Dani, Reese, Landon and Aly; aunt and uncle, Chuck and Shirley Reinke; numerous cousins; close friends, JoAnn, Borys and Hank; and beloved dog, "Muffin." He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Alice and Harry Reinke and Susan and Raymond Cole, Sr.; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with his brother, Rev. Roger Cole, officiating and assisted by nephews, Joshua and Jonathan Cole. Inurnment at East Conneaut Cemetery will take place at a later date. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 2 PM. Should friends desire memorials in memory of Jim may be given to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004 or to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
