William "Bill" F. Johnson, Sr., 80, of Millard Ave., Conneaut, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Ashtabula County Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Johnson was born January 1, 1933 in Conneaut to Harry and Flora (Allen) Johnson. He graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1951. After high school Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He retired from CEI as a multi-crew supervisor. Bill was a member of the Conneaut Boat Club and enjoyed boating, working on boats and cars, rebuilding motors and was active with the Sea Scouts. He attended the former Lakeview United Methodist Church with his wife. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marlene L. (Cedar) Johnson; and sons, Eric Johnson and William "Bill" F. (Sharon) Johnson, Jr. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 12 P.M., Noon at the Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with Pastor Jan Walsh of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, where military rites will be performed by American Legion Cowle Post #151. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 A.M. until time of services at 12 P.M., Noon.
