Joyce Ann Schreiber, 74, of North Amboy Rd., Conneaut, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. She was born October 8, 1938 in Cherry Hill, Pennsylvania the daughter of Thelma (Hewitt) Wood-Narducci and the late Devere Wood. Joyce spent her career in the health care profession caring for others and received an honorary award for faithful and valuable service. She retired from Maples after working there for 25 years. She loved animals (especially her dogs Hobo and Baby), nature, reading books, and traveling with her family. Joyce and her husband, Bill, were active members of the NEO Model A Club and enjoyed trips in their 1930 Model A Ford. After an 11 year battle with triple negative breast cancer, she said "If you ask me how I want to be remembered it is as a winner. A winner is somebody who has given her best effort, who has tried her hardest she possibly can, and who uses every ounce of energy and strength. That's a winner!" She was married to Conrad Bennett and together they had 3 daughters; Pam (Jeff Stanonik) Nyman, Brenda (Ed) Jaworski, and Shelly (Bob) Runyeon. They divorced and she re-married William Schreiber and lovingly gained 5 more children; Jody (Pat) Davin, Kimberly (Nick) Scalise-Noirot, Keith (Ida) Schreiber, Scott (Lilya) Schreiber, and Sue (Bob) Walla; Joyce has 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Thelma Narducci and a brother, Gary Wood. She is preceded in death by her father, Devere Wood and step-father, Nicholas Narducci. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1:00P.M. at the THOMPSON-SMITH-NESBITT FUNERAL HOME, 345 MAIN ST., CONNEAUT, with Pastor Mary Prior, of Amboy United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. Burial will follow services at Greenlawn Memory Gardens. Should friends desire memorials in memory of Joyce may be given to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
