Margaret E. Peters, 95, formerly of State Rd, South, Plymouth Twp., died peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Margaret was born on March 12, 1917 in Plymouth Twp., in the home her grandfather bought after the civil war, to Harry and Pearl (nee Seymour) Moores, She graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1935. Mrs. Peters was a member of the Kingsville Eastern Star Orion Lodge #12, the Plymouth United Methodist Church and was an 80 year member of the East Plymouth Grange. She was a waitress at Hotel Ashtabula and Aunt Jemima's Pancake House (Mr. C's.) Margaret will be remembered for her hospitality and her love for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband. Mrs. Peters is survived by her brother, Donald Moores; niece, Cindy (Greg) Woodburn; nephew, Steve (Georgine) Moores; and several great-nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl W. Peters; brother, Randall Moores; sister-in-law, E. Jeanne Moores; and nephews, David and Jeffrey Moores. Funeral services will be held, Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Revs. Johnnie Swann of Plymouth United Church and Vernon Palo of Andover 1st United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. Memorials in memory of Margaret may be given to Plymouth United Methodist Church or East Plymouth Grange. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
