Obituary of Caroline Lena Antolik

Caroline (Lena) Antolik, 93 of Conneaut, OH, passed away on May 24, 2013 at the Villa at the Lake in Conneaut, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the THOMPSON-SMITH-NESBITT FUNERAL HOME, 345 MAIN ST., CONNEAUT, on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Philip Miller of, St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish, officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Girard, Pennsylvania. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM. Lena was born in Derry, Pennsylvania to Joseph Colby and Elizabeth (Petruccelli) Colby on February 1st, 1920. She attended high school in Conneaut, Ohio. Lena married Joseph Antolik in 1948. They were blessed with 53 years together before Joe's passing in 2001. Lena and Joe lived in Girard, Pennsylvania where they were very active in the community. Lena was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church in Girard, Pennsylvania. She was an active volunteer in many of the church endeavors. Lena worked as a quality inspector for General Electric for 40 years. She enjoyed golf, bowling and spending time with friends and family. Lena and her husband Joe loved to travel. They would spend winters golfing and vacationing in Arizona and Myrtle Beach. They visited many of America's great National Parks and explored the beautiful vistas of the western United States. Mrs. Anotolik is survived by her brother, Nicholas Colby Sr., his wife, Mary Colleen of Conneaut, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Antolik; her father, Joseph Colby; her mother, Elizabeth (Petruccelli) Colby; her sister, Josephine Colby; and her brother, Chris Colby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of UH Conneaut Medical Center, the staff at the Villa at the Lake and the volunteers at Hospice of the Western Reserve for the compassion and care they gave to Lena.
