Trip to Florida— deep sea fishing and tour of a submarine.
He’s tell you one hell of a story about the fishing trip and how we got caught in a crazy storm and how I had a shark on my line, but lost it!
He’d also mention how he farted in the submarine and tried to blame it on me when the people behind us started complaining!

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Jeffrey?
A: I shot my first and only deer in Jeff’s tree stand behind his house. I was introduced to Jeff through my boyfriend Derek. He always made me laugh and never made me feel uncomfortable which was incredible to me because I’m usually uncomfortable around people. I went on deer drives with Jeff and sat around the table listening to everyone tell stories and laugh. Ive experienced things I never saw before since meeting Jeff, not unlike a lot of people who met him. Like Derek and Jeff skinning raccoons and looking for frogs in the game lands. He was one of a kind in the best way and I’ll certainly miss his laugh and what a good time he was to be around.

Nelson family,
I dug deep in the archives for these pics. 2011 Softball All Stars. Jeff was such a supportive Dad and was always there for Lex and her teammates. I remember him donating so much perch for the fish fry fundraiser for their team. My husband John went hunting with him a few times and had a blast. Gone but not forgotten Jeff. May you rest in peace.

Being a father was his greatest achievement, but his greatest joy came when he became a Papa. Jaelynn, Lacee, Leo, and Lincoln were so lucky to have had their Papa love them.

Q: How did you meet Jeffrey?
A: I met Jeffrey through my father, Tom. They were the best of friends, and he worked for my dad while I was working for him as well fresh out of high school. I have so many fond memories of our days working together. From the day he met me he treated me like his own family, to the point I called him grandpa! He would go out of his way to teach me things, he’d help me out whenever I needed it, he was just all around a great man. He’s the reason I stayed sane while working for my old man! I’ll never forget the things he’s done for me.

I remember when me and Alexis played softball together and had Jeff as our coach. It was so much fun!! So many great times we all had traveling to states and winning. We were all so very excited!! I can still remember all the jokes he’d make to get us all smiling and laughing again because we were having a hard time. Gone but never forgotten Jeff!!
